Meet Fresh - Taiwanese-based dessert chain

Last week, we came to Diamond plaza to try Meet Fresh - a Taiwanese-based dessert chain - the first store in the US.

TIP: don't come here in weekends or dinner time/ evening, you have to wait about 30 minutes on line to order, and about 15 minutes to get your food.

I think the quality of the desert is better then it was in Taiwan (as I know, they are closing a lot of stores in Taiwan), especially the taro ball.

Mochilato sweet shaved ice

If you visit Daiso in Irvine, you should also visit this store, especially in a hot summer day!, It locates right next to Daiso store. The restaurant is bigger than it looks from outside. They sell not only ice-cream but also tea, cake, food, and even more than that.

I bought single size for 3 people. That was BIG enough! It had ice-cream in the middle of this bowl. The store even gave us an extra bowl of sweet red bean, because he thought there was not enough red bean in the top of shaved ice ~~~~~

New Taiwanese bakery in Irvine

I prefer go to Kiki bakery at 14250 Culver,  Irvine, next to Mitsuwa to buy breads, instead of 85 degree. Breads here are so fresh, tasty, and not so sweet. The price is quite similar to the price in Taiwan. I think they type of bread everyday, because everytime I go there, they always have something I didn't see from the previous visit.

This is their cheese cake, light flavor of cheese, not like the traditional cheese cake in America.

Not so many stores open at 6 am as this bakery: Cream pan in Tustin. This Japanese pastries makes thing simple, traditional, but freaking delicious. We went there around 6:10 am to pick something for breakfast, and these were ours:

Homemade Baklava from Greece

Our friend just brought us four small pieces of baklava his mom made in Greece. This is the sweet from nuts I love the most. 

The front phyllo dough is so crispy. His mom put a small dried baby rose for each piece to make the cake's flavor better.
