New coffee flavor from Nespresso

This holiday, Nespresso has released three new limited flavored coffee: coconut, macadamia nut and hazelnut. The store locates at Bloomingdale, South Coast plaza.

The man there said, they will run out of coconut coffee in next few days, so I picked two for myself, just $0.7 for each capsule

Udon noodle and chirasi at Mitsuwa

Like this udon restaurant in Mitsuwa supermarket (Costa Mesa): Sanukiseimen Mugimaru.
The noodles are made right there by this machine

This my choice: udon with pork broth and sliced stewed pork. The tempura is great. I picked fried squid (the one with bamboo stick), eggplant, white fish, and sweet potato.
The store next to this noodles restaurant has this small bowl of shashimi and rice, cheap but the quality is ok (around $7.5)

Dinner at Maki Zushi

Everyone has free tea and miso soup. The tea is roasted rice and green tea

This three rolls are in happy hours, 20% off

This is an awesome chirashi! Premium chirashi bowl is for 2 people. Every piece of fish is so fresh and juicy.  They use "live" seafood, such as the scallop
This is the rest of the clam, the middle part is in chirashi bowl. They stir-fry it with butter and mushroom
This is the best negi toro roll we have tried in California

The restaurant is $$ in Yelp, but I think it should be in $$$ rank. However, you eat what you pay ~~~ IT's AMAZINGLy  GOOD!

Stir fry bacon with cabbage

 1. What you need:
- 1/4 cabbage (prefer white cabbage or Taiwanese cabbage)
- 4 slices of bacon (I bought at Trader Joe's)
- 1/4 cup white wine (or rice wine)
- Pepper, chopped garlic

2. How you do:
- Wash the cabbage and cut into small size
 - Cut bacon into small pieces
 - Preheat pan, add bacon and garlic, stir some times to let it not stick to the pan. NO oil added. Use medium heat.
- After 10 minutes, you can see the brown color in the pan, add back pepper, stir a bit, then add cabbage, mix well, use high heat.

- After 2 minutes, add white wine, mix again and again for another 3 minutes, close lid, reduce heat to medium, wait for 5 minutes.

And here is the result!

Autumn vegetables from farmer market

Very fresh but pricey mushroom

Will try the sprouted seeds next week
 Orchid corner

First time I saw sugar cane that fresh in USA,  got 1 for myself.

So fresh baby zuchini, just 1 dollar per pound

And here is my harvest

midnight party at Taiwanese restaurant

The balcony grill & bar at 2710 Alton Parkway (Diamond plaza) is our target.

A pitcher of draft beer is so good for my bad mood. Sapporo is my husband's suggestion (around $14.5). It matches the food we order.
Here it comes, the famous Taiwanese stingy tofu with spicy and sour pickle cabbage. It's around $5.5.

And here are some dishes that very "typically Taiwanese style"!
