Pizza at Love Letter

This is the best place for fried chicken and pizza in OC.
http://www.yelp.com/biz/love-letter-pizza-and-chicken-irvine

It locates inside H-mart supermarket at diamond jamboree plaza. The specially menu they have here is sweet potato pizza. I don't think this is a traditional pizza style, but their creativity works. It's pricey. A medium one is around $15.

Fried chicken is awesome. A half chicken costs $8.99.

They will cook right after you order and it takes around 20 minute. So if you want to eat their, call them first, then departure, otherwise you have to wait like forever, especially when you are hungry.

Mochilato sweet shaved ice

If you visit Daiso in Irvine, you should also visit this store, especially in a hot summer day!, It locates right next to Daiso store. The restaurant is bigger than it looks from outside. They sell not only ice-cream but also tea, cake, food, and even more than that.

Fresh vanilla puff

I bought single size for 3 people. That was BIG enough! It had ice-cream in the middle of this bowl. The store even gave us an extra bowl of sweet red bean, because he thought there was not enough red bean in the top of shaved ice ~~~~~

How to cook Chicken porridge (congee) by Breville

Breville Risotto Plus is a very good slow cooker, you can use it even for Asian dish such as porridge. Korean friend told me how to cook this dish simply and deliciously.

1. Ingredients: for 3 people
- A whole cornish hen (I prefer to buy organic cornish hen in Wholefood, about $12 per one)
- 1 cup of rice (less or more is up to you, depends on the thickness of congee)
- Date: 6
- Green onion: 1
- Garlic (optional): 3 gloves
- Gingseng (fresh/dry): 1 (optional)
- Chesnut: 5 (optional)
- Black pepper, salt
- Organic cotton twine (for cooking, I bought in from Mother's market)
- And a slow cooker: Breville Risotto Plus

2. Method:
-Wash and soak the rice in cold water for 1 hour. If you don't have time, just wash it.
- Clean the chicken, trim out the fat (I prefer that)
- Stuff rice into the chicken (don't make it too full), tie up with the cotton twine

- Put the chicken in the center of the bowl, add the remain rice around it (if you have some)

- Put other ingredients but the green onion into the bowl, then pour water cover the chicken

- Use Saute setting, till it broils for 10 mins (be careful, open the lid if it has too much bubbles), stir well the bottom (make sure no rice sticking there) then change to fast slow cook.

- After 2 hours, add some green onion, your soup is ready!

SOBA cold noodle from Nongshim

When the temperature reaches 90 degree, it's time to have cold noodle.  You don't have to go out for this dish, just need one pack of instant soba noodle.
I choose Nongshim brand because it has no MSG.

It's quite complicated to cook instant noodles (haha) but it tastes like what you eat outside (seriously).

Ok, start to prepare:
1. Cook the noodle in broiled water for 4 mins.

While waiting for it, you can prepare the soup: mix cold water with the soup      base and seasons

2. Rinse well in cold water (preferred filtered water)

3. Put the noodle in a bold of cold water (mixed with ice)

4. Strain well

5. You can put some dried seaweed (if you have)
